Martha Louise Herston, 69, of Florence, passed away Feb. 16, 2014, at her residence. She was a member of Petersville Church of Christ.
Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Petersville Church of Christ. The funeral service will be Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Petersville Church of Christ with Sonny Owens and Hugh McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Herston was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby “Ted” Herston; parents, Dee and Blanch Swinea; brother, Willie Dee; and sisters, Elizabeth and Jewell Grigsby, and Frances Behel.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Herston (Emily) and Steven Herston (Jamie), of Cedar Bluff, Ala.; daughter, Melissa Gunnels (Jim); sisters, Betty Richardson and Doris Davis; grandchildren, Nathan Evans (Stacy), Randall Evans (Lindsey), David Gunnels (Lizzie Baxter), of Denton, Texas, Kevin and Nolan Herston, and Abe Herston, of Cedar Bluff Ala.; and one great-grandchild, Jessa Evans.
Active pallbearers will be Nathan Evans, Randall Evans, David Gunnels, Bryan Davis, Brad Davis, and Kevin Herston. Honorary pallbearer will be Frank Grigsby.
