Louis David “L.D.” Posey , 89 of Toney, Alabama passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.
He was born Monday, September 29, 1924 in Huntsville, Alabama, he was the son of the late Franklin Posey and the late Janey Blackwell Posey. He lived in the Ardmore area all his life. He served in WWII in the Marine Corps. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing with his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. He also was a song writer and performer.
He is survivied by his wfe, Lillie Posey of Toney, AL sons, Stan Posey of Albertville, AL and Randy D. Posey of Athens, AL, daughter, Deborah I. Downs of Toney, AL, brothers, Marvin Posey of Taft, TN and James Posey of Ardmore, AL, sisters, Hester McNeese of Ardmore, AL, Juanita McCown of Decatur, AL, VonCille Wales of Ardmore, AL, Carrie Mitchell of Ardmore, AL and Carolyn Mitchell of Ardmore, AL, 11 grandchildren, 12 great -grandchildren, and 6 great-great- grandchildren .
He is preceased in death by his parents, a son, Anthony D. Posey.
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday Febraury 19, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, with Bro.Jeff Drake officiating. Burial will be in Hatchett Cemetery, Athens, AL.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, 27186 Main Street, Ardmore, Alabama.
