Charles Kelly Thompson, of Tuscumbia, was born April 23, 1933, and died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at the age of 80. Visitation will be Wednesday, 11-1 p.m., at First Baptist Church, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary with Barrett Long officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.He was a native of Colbert County, served in the Korean War and was a member of First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia. He was a proud Deshler High School graduate and initiated, as well as served, as chairman of the Deshler Fabulous Fifties reunion. He was preceded in death by his parents, W. J. and Evie Thompson, and his brother, Bill Thompson. He was formerly employed with the Florence Clinic and SBS Electric.He is survived by his children, Todd Thompson and wife, Lisa, Monaire Murphy and husband, Richard, and Ty Thompson and wife, Telina; brothers, Carl G.Thompson, Bobby Gill Thompson, and David Price Thompson; grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Trey, Grayson, Mollie, and Emma Grace; and great-grandchild, Kenley.Pallbearers are Trey Murphy, Justin Murphy, Price Thompson, Jody Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Paul Thompson, and Steve Hauerwas.
