William Benton McGuire Jr., age 91, of Muscle Shoals, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014. His family will receive friends Saturday, 1-3 p.m., at Tuscumbia Church of Christ. His funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary with Bob Plunkett officiating.

Mr. McGuire was a veteran of World War II and a member of Tuscumbia Church of Christ. He was southern regional director of NECA, a member of the VFW, IBEW Local 558, the Patriots Circle World War II Museum, the American Legion, and the Academy of Electrical Workers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Benton and Estelle James McGuire, and his wife, Evelyn Willis McGuire, and sister, Helen Garafalo.

He is survived by his son, James L. McGuire and wife, Elaine, of Lilburn, Ga.; daughter, Sandra J. McGee and husband, Tim, of Tuscumbia; brother, Louis A McGuire and wife Betty, of Monticello, Ark.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Clay McGuire, Drew McGee, David Green, Cecil Robinson, Tucker Green, and Marshall Snyder.

Honorary Pallbearers are Buzz Malone, Dr. John P. Mims, Clifford Miles, David Willingham, Bryant Willingham, and Bobby Henry.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Mars Hill Bible School.
