Robert Dean “Rab” Shelton, 72 of Ardmore, Alabama died on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Born Monday, July 7, 1941 in Pulaski, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Delbert Boots Shelton and the late Mary May Butcher Shelton. He was a member of Community Baptist Church and enjoyed visiting with people, fishing, riding around, and especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife: Gay Shelton, a son: Kirk Shelton, and a brother: Tommy Shelton.
Surviving are his wife: Joyce Shelton of Ardmore, AL, son, Robby (Julie) Shelton of Pulaski, TN, step-daughter: DeDe (Jackie) Emerson of Ardmore, AL, sisters, Mary Jane Howell of Pulaski, TN, Joann Rose of Pulaski, TN, Paulette Durham of Decatur, AL, Alma Jean Lovett of Pulaski, TN and Nancy Dunnevant of Pulaski, TN, grandchildren: Andrew, Blair, Chloe, Addison, and Eli Shelton, step-grandchildren: Ashley & Drew Hogan, and Presley Emerson, and a step-great-granddaughter: Hazel Ruth Hogan.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Steve Hargrove and Bro. Drew Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 7, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
