Ellen Edwards, 72, of Decatur passed away Friday, January 31, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Miss Edwards was predeceased by her parents, Russell J. Edwards and Rebecca H. Edwards; and her brother, John B. Edwards. She is survived by her aunt, Helen E. Martin of Huntsville, numerous cousins, and her special friend from childhood, Patricia Hatchitt.
Miss Edwards was born March 17, 1941. She was a retired school teacher, having taught primarily in Huntsville and Lawrence County. Miss Edwards grew up in Tuscaloosa and was a graduate of the University of Alabama and Alabama A&M University, Huntsville. There will be no services.
