Megan Gwyneth Vineyard, age 88, of Florence, passed away on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.
Visitation will be held fron 12:30-2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Forrest Hills Baptist Church. The service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Mike Vineyard and Dr. Tom Phillips officiating. The burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Vineyard was born in Newport, England, and came to America as a war bride in 1946 on the Queen Mary. She and her family lived in the Knoxville, Tenn., area until moving to Florence in 1960. She was a devout Christian and was known as a “Prayer Warrior” by her many friends and her church families. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Murray Vineyard; her parents, David and Margaret Heames; brother, Ernald Heames; and sister, Dorothy James.
Survivors are her son, Rev. Mike Vineyard (Freda); daughter, Janet Bailey (Johnny); grandchildren, Michael Vineyard (Erin), John Bailey, Jennifer Stokes (Jeff) and Megan Piedra (Tony); great-grandchildren, Emily Vineyard, Lyric Cosby, Keys Piedra and Evelynn Stokes.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael Vineyard, John Bailey, Jeff stokes and Tony Piedra; and friends, Jack Bobo and Tom Childers.
