Rhoda Ann Redding Price “Big Mama” – Obituary

Rhoda Ann Redding Price “Big Mama”, age 100, of Florence, passed away Jan. 29, 2014. She was a lifelong member of St. James United Methodist Church and retired from Kroger’s after 40 years of service as a butcher. Big Mama resided at Glenwood Nursing Home for 15 years; she was their longest living resident.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, from noon-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Florence City Cemetery.

Big Mama was one of nine children born to William T. Redding and Ollie Edwina Guthrie Redding. All her siblings preceded her in death; also a daughter, parents, and a grandson.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce English (Charles); granddaughters, Betty Ann Singleton (Danny) and Debbie Wiley (James); great-grandchildren, Jason Seaton and Trisha Harris; and great-great-grandchildren, Syndey, Ethan, and Sammy.

Pallbearers will be Dino Wiley, Clint Wilkes, Ryan Wilkes, Tony Ligon, Dennis Wolfe, and Dennis Miller.
