Felony Theft Arrest made by Florence Detectives

theif 1Florence man arrested this morning in connection to thefts across the South-Eastern States, Christopher Lynn Timbes is currently in custody. Here is what the Florence Police Department had to say.theif 2

“Florence Man Linked to Thefts in 5 Southern States; Christopher Lynn Timbes, 45, of Florence was taken into custody by FPD Detectives this morning and charged with two counts of felony theft of property. He is accused of opening cash registers at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club intheif 4 Florence and removing the money inside. Evidence in this case led to the discovery of more than 38 stores in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Louisiana where Timbes is accused of opening registers and removing money. Investigators theif 5with Wal-Mart’s Global Investigations Divisions traveled to Florence last week to assist in the investigation once Timbes was developed as a suspect in the case. Combined, Timbes is accused of stealing more than $50,000 from Wal-Mart stores over the last 3 years. Police Agencies throughout the Southeast have additional warrants for Timbes arrest once he is released from custody in Lauderdale County. Timbes is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center.”
