Doris Elizabeth Brown Gey, 79 of Elkmont, Alabama died on Monday, January 27, 2014, at Athens-Limestone Hospital in Athens, Alabama.
Born Wednesday, April 11, 1934 in Athens, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late William Allen Jones and the late Mildred Elizabeth Vinson Jones. She was a lifelong resident of this area and loved her dogs, gardening, and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents, a husband: Ed Brown, and a son: Steve Brown.
Surviving are her husband: Lerman Gey of Athens, AL, a son: Anthony Brown of Elkmont, AL, brother, Nathan Jones of Hartselle, AL, sisters, Connie Faulk of Ardmore, AL and Helen Clemmons of Panama City, FL, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Brent Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
