Funeral for Sue Daly Aycock, 83, of Decatur will be Thursday, January 23, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gary Heathcock and Jeff Sellers officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Aycock, who died Monday, January 20, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born April 3, 1930, in Tennessee to William Noble and Lou Ella Headricks Daly. She worked for Baugh Wiley Smith Hospital, Parkway Hospital and Decatur Orthopedic Clinic. She was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Virginia College, John Daly, Billy Daly, Peggy Ghee and Jerome Daly.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Claude R. Aycock Jr.; one daughter, Judy Aycock Rudell of Decatur; two brothers, Joe Daly and Jerry Daly, both of Athens; five sisters, Wilma Austin, Jane Powers and Martha Daly, all of Athens, Betty Willis of Elkmont and Anita Daly of Decatur; and one grandson, Adam Richard Rudell of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Greg Ghee, Gary Daly, Lynn Daly, Bryan Willis, Joey Aycock, Marty Daly, Will Daly, Henry Shirley, Larry Powers, Jeff Powers and Mike Powers.
