Lee Jackson Benefield was born March 5, 1935 in Haleyville, Al. and passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 at the age of 78. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, he moved Warner Robins, Ga and worked at Robins Air Force Base for 33 years, and was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church. In 1988 he moved to Greenville, SC to be close to his son and lived there until 2011 before returning to Haleyville.
Visitation is Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, Al.. Funeral service at 3:00PM in the chapel, with Dr. Jim Cooley officiating, with burial in New Hope Cemetery.
He is survived by son, Samuel N. Benefield and his wife, Mila; brothers, James R. Benefield, Abraham Benefield, Durrell Benefield and Paul Benefield; sisters, Vernie Stricklen and Truby Thomas; granddaughter, Samantha Grace Benefield and grandson, Samuel Nathan Benefield.
He was preceded in death by: parents, James M and Bethany G. Benefield and brother, William Benefield.
