J. A. (Avon) Tucker, 87, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He and his wife were the owners of J. A. Tucker Furniture and Appliance in Burnsville for many years. Mr. Tucker was also a farmer, home builder, and in his younger years was a peddler, as well as a U.S. Army Veteran. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Donnie Bobo. Interment will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Pallbearers include Terry Rorie, Bradley Bonds, Scott Marlin, Jackie Baswell, Jeff Allred, and Tim Grissom. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived his daughter, Pam McMillan (Rodger) of Burnsville; two grandchildren, Abbie and Ryan McMillan, both of Burnsville; and two nieces, Joyce Rorie and Carolyn Timbes, both of Burnsville.
