Janet Gangaware – Obituary

Janet Gangaware, 87, of Toms River, N.J., formerly of Cranford, passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, after a long illness.
Born in Cranford, Janet married and raised four children. She worked for United Counties Trust Co. and retired after 30 years. Upon retirement, she moved to Cherokee, Ala.
She was a member of the Cherokee Lions Club and served on the Cherokee Library Board. She volunteered her time at the Library until moving back to New Jersey in 2012.
Predeceased by her friend Samuel Hays, of Cherokee, and her son, Richard, of Harmony, N.J.. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn McLeer and husband, Derry, of Brick, N.J., and her sons, Robert, of Philadelphia, and Dale Jr., of Ohio.
Janet is also survived by nine grandchildren; David, of Monument, Colo., Jason Harrington, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Harmony Harrington Bertrand, of Cranford, Tara Gangaware Ribar, of Miss., Kelly Gangaware, of Lancaster, Pa., Jamie Gangaware Czarnowski, of Spring Lake Park, Minn., Adam Gangaware, of Harmony, Pa., Connie Gangaware Emmitt, of Camden, N.C., Dale Gangaware III, of Camden, N.C.. and 13 great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be private, and a memorial service and life celebration will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at 11 a.m., Gray Memorial Funeral Home, Springfield Ave., Cranford, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Janet’s memory to the Cherokee Public Library, PO Box 333, Cherokee, AL 35616.
