Ronnie Lee Hanback – Obituary

RonnieRonnie Lee Hanback, 55, of Florence, died at his home on Jan. 16, 2014, following his battle with pancreatic cancer. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. today at Greenview Funeral Home. His celebration of life service will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Greg Woodall and Daniel “Dano” Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park.

Ronnie was a driver operator technician for Fritts Construction. He was known as a hard worker who loved his family and friends and his grandchildren were so very special to him. Ronnie was also an avid Alabama football fan.

Preceding him in death were his father, Billy Joe Hanback, and his stepfather, A. W. Martin.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Shelia Hanback; his mother, Faye Martin; sons, Jason Hanback and Josh McKinley; daughter, Veronica Hanback; sisters, Susie Mitchell (Harold), Carol Hanback, and Lori Larkin (Scott); brothers, Donnie Hanback, Bill Hanback, Randy Hanback, and Brad Hanback (Mindy); stepmother, Jane Hanback; grandchildren, Chelsea, Carson, Pace, Dakota, Brayden, and Emme; and his companions, Tooter and Sassy.

Pallbearers will be Chris Fitts, Blake Fitts, Darrell Scott, Jayme Dolan, Jimmy Robinson and Robert Hodge. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Hill, Ronnie McCaig, and Royce Robertson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the whole staff of Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, Ill. for their care and treatment of Ronnie during his illness.
