Helen Marie Dunlap Swinford, born June 14, 1939 in Eva, Alabama, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2014 at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Swinford was retired from Humana Hospital. She lived in Texas for the last 9 ½ years with her sister. Mrs. Swinford is preceded in death by her parents, Eunice Morgan Dunlap and Claud Van Dunlap; her brother, Van B. Dunlap; her daughter, Debra Faye Freeman Earls; and her husband Bowdee Swinford.
Mrs. Swinford is survived by her daughter, Joyce Womack and husband William; her sister, Myrtie Tomplait; her grandchildren, Mary Lambert, Julie York, Jana Earls, and Jonathan Earls; 10 Great grandchildren and 1 Great-great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be on Saturday January 18, 2014 at 1pm at Hamby’s Chapel Methodist Church. Mrs. Swinford will lie in state at the church from 11am until 1pm. Burial will follow in Hamby’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday January 17, 2014 from 5pm until 8pm at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville.
