Gloria D. Patterson, age 72, of Tuscumbia, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014. Visitation will be today, 6-8 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jack Coons and Bud Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Mrs. Patterson was a Colbert County native and was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Patterson; daughter, Pennie Williams; grandson, C. J. Green; great-granddaughter, Madelyn Aguirre; parents, Oliver and Cora Benson; and several siblings.
Survivors include her daughters, Fran Borden (Mickie), Jennie Wright (Jack), Charlotte King (Carlis), Michelle Green (Richard), and Brandi Aguirre; brothers, James Benson, Jerry Henson, Walter Benson, Rickey Benson, and Randy Benson; and sisters, Betty Letson, Shirley Sutton, Peggy Winsted, Missie Jones, and Mary Dell Riddle.
Pallbearers are Johnny Borden, Shane Trowbridge, Jimmy Winsted, Barry Winsted, Mark Jones, Robert Newton and Randolph Speagle.
Honorary pallbearers are Timmy Patterson, Darryl Patterson, Sammy Stout, Chris Patterson and Tyler Patterson.
The family expresses special thanks to Jimmy and Tammy Winstead.
