David McGee
(October 10, 1956 – January 4, 2014)
David McGee, 57, of Cherokee, died Saturday, January 4, 2014. His visitation will be Tuesday, January 7th, from 5 pm until 8 pm at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Wednesday, January 8th, at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tim Smith and Bro. Richard McGee officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
David was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of the Masonic Lodge #43. He attended Blythe Memorial United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gwendolen and William H. McGee; brothers, John, Howard, Jerry Wayne, James, Billy, Tommy and Jimmy Dee; sisters, Sue McGee and Brenda Gail O’Kelley; and brother-in-law, Wayne Borden, who was like a Dad.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley McGee; daughters, Misty Tucker, Amelia Wilson (Todd), and Allison Stutts; brother, Gene McGee (Helen); sister, Mary Borden, who was a mother to David after their mother passed away; grandchildren, Gabrielle Loustaunau, Paiden Tucker, Ricklen Tucker, Jay David Wilson, Katie, Buddy and Gracie; special niece and nephew, Kim Patterson and Kevin McGee; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Floyd Patterson, Elwynn Johnson, Dylan Patterson, Tony Hallmark, Willie McGee, Frank Johnson, Billy McGee, and Charles McGee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin McGee and Lester Jones.
Thanks to his doctors and nurses on 6th floor and ICU at ECM Hospital. Thanks to our families and friends for all their help, visits, love, and prayers.
