TENNESSEE VALLEY-Due to the bitterly cold weather expected next week (January 6-10 2014) several area school systems have announced delays :
Alabama A&M University – Faculty-Staff Conference at Alabama A&M University will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Wellness Center. Also, AAMU will have delayed opening by two hours.
Albertville City Schools – closed Monday and 3 hour delay Tuesday and Wednesday, January 7-8. Buses will start running at 9:30 a.m. Car riders should be at school by 10:30 a.m.
Arab City Schools – opens at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday’s student holiday continues as planned.
Arc of Jackson County will not be open Monday.
Athens Bible School – closed Monday
Athens City Schools – closed Monday classes will be delayed two hours on Tuesday.
Bethel Baptist School – closed Monday
Big Cove Christian Academy – delayed two hours on Monday.
Blunt County Schools- 2 hour delay Monday-Wednesday
Boaz City Schools – closed Monday, 3 hour delay Tuesday, and will evaluate Wednesday’s delay on Tuesday afternoon.
Calhoun Community College – Opening at 10 a.m. Monday, Tuesday
Cherokee County Schools – closed Monday.
Colbert County Schools – delayed until 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Cornerstone Christian Academy – closed Monday delayed two hours Tuesday.
Country Day School in Huntsville – delay two hours on Monday.
Cullman City Schools – closed Monday and Tuesday – opening at regular time (no delay, as originally planned).
Cullman County Schools – closed on Monday and delayed two hours on Tuesday.
Decatur City Schools – opens at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Monday’s teacher in-service continues as planned.
Decatur Heritage Christian Academy- upper school 9:45 a.m, lower school 10 a.m.
DeKalb County Schools – Closed Monday
Etowah County Schools- 2 hour delay Monday and Tuesday
Fayetteville City, Tennessee Schools – closed on Monday. The FAST Care program will remain open.
First Baptist Child Developmental Center – Opening at 10 a.m. Monday
First Friends MMO/Preschool in Athens – closed Monday and Tuesday.
Florence City Schools – 2 hour delay Tuesday
Ft Payne City Schools- Delayed until 10 a.m. Tuesday
Franklin County Schools – delayed two hours Monday and Tuesday.
Giles County, Tennessee schools – closed Monday and Tuesday.
Grace Lutheran – delayed two hours on Monday.
Greengate Schools- 10 a.m. start time Monday
Guntersville City Schools – will be closed Monday and operate on a 3 hour delay Tuesday and Wednesday.
Hartselle City Schools – Closed Monday
Huntsville City Schools – opening at 10 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday. Buses will be running on a two-hour delayed schedule. Schools, however, will be open at their regularly scheduled times for students and breakfast will be available. Huntsville City Schools said all employees are expected to report to work at their regularly scheduled times.
Huntsville Achievement School – start 2 hours late at 10 a.m. Monday.
Jackson County Schools – closed for students on Monday and open at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Teachers and staff should report to school at 10:30 a.m. or when they feel safe on Monday.
Kids Kount Day School in Trinity – delayed two hours Monday.
LaPetite Academy in Huntsville, Madison and Decatur – open at 8 a.m. Monday.
Lauderdale County Schools – Closed Monday and delayed two hours Tuesday.
Lawrence County Schools – closed Monday and 2 hour delay Tuesday.
Lawrence County Senior Centers -will be closed Monday and Tuesday. All NARCOG meals are canceled.
Legacy Christian Academy in Killen – opening two hours late on Monday and Tuesday.
Limestone County Schools – closed Monday determination about Wednesday will be made Monday
Lincoln County, Tennessee Schools – closed on Tuesday.
Lindsay Lane Christian Academy – Delayed 2 hours Monday, opening at 10:10 a.m.
Madison City Schools – delayed 2 hours Monday.
Madison County Schools – delayed two hours Monday and Tuesday. Buses will run two hours later than normal.
Madison Academy – open at 10 a.m. Monday and Tuesday; students are asked to bring their own lunches.
Madison Baptist Academy – open at 10 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
Mars Hill Bible School – Closed Monday open at 10 a.m. on and Tuesday. This is for all Florence campuses.
Marshall County Schools – Closed Monday delayed three hours Tuesday, and Wednesday.Marshall Christian School (Albertville) – Closed Monday, opening at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; No early morning care Tuesday and Wednesday
Morgan County Schools – closed Monday, 2 hour delay Tuesday and Wednesday.
Mountain View Christian Academy- Closed Monday
Muscle Shoals City Schools – delayed 2 hours Monday, no breakfast served.
New Freedom Daycare in Russellville – open at 10 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, and extended care plans will be announced.
New Life Christian Academy in Grant – closed Monday.
Northeast Alabama Community College – open from noon to 5 p.m. on Monday for registration only.
Northeast City College in Rainsville – open 12-5 on Monday for registration.
Oakwood University offices and registration – open at 10 a.m. Monday.
Primrose School in Madison – open at 9 a.m.
Randolph School – Open on Monday – regular time
Riley Center in Huntsville – 2 hour delay Monday
Riverside Christian Academy (Fayetteville) – Closed Tuesday
Russellville City School- delayed until 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Buses will run two hours late.
Scottsboro City Schools – Delayed 3 hours Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Sheffield City Schools – school for 2 hours Monday
Snead State Community College – Delayed Monday until 10 a.m.
Solid Rock Christian School – Closed Monday, will open Tuesday and Wednesday at 9 a.m. if weather and road conditions permit
St. Bernard PreparatorySchool – closed Monday and Tuesday
St. Mark’s Child Development Center in Huntsville -open at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
The Arc of the Shoals – The day program will open at ten a.m.
The Span Program in Huntsville – delayed two hours on Monday
Tuscumbia City Schools – 10 a.m. start time Monday, open at regular time Tuesday
The University of North Alabama – 2 hour delay Monday
UAH – will open at 10 a.m. Monday.
Union Chapel Christian Academy – Opening at 10 a.m. Monday
Union Chapel Day Care Center – Opening at 10 a.m. Monday
Wallace State- 10 a.m. start time
Westminster Christian Academy (upper and lower levels) – open at 10 a.m. Monday.
