Agatha Coker Hester Woods died Dec. 31, 2013, at DCH Medical Center. She was born in west Colbert County, Ala. on Nov. 29, 1925. She attended the University of North Alabama, worked for multiple businesses and the State of Alabama, including business manager of Joe Wheeler State Trade School.
Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Clara Coker; her former husband, Walter Thurman Hester; husband, Milton J. Woods; and sister, Pauline Trousdale.
She is survived by her son, Dwight Hester and wife, Ann; granddaughter, Lucy Hester Sellers and husband, Josh; sister-in-law, Betty Patterson; and five nieces.
She was interred in a private family service on Jan. 2, 2014. For the past six years of her life she was a resident of Merrill Gardens/Brookdale Place Northport where she received kind and loving care. Please consider memorials to any animal welfare agency of one’s choice.
