Veena Vance, 72, of Tuscumbia, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. Her visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 4, at Colbert Memorial Chapel in Tuscumbia from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Her funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow in Vance Cemetery in Jones Chapel. Brother Dan Compton is officiating.
Mrs. Vance is survived by her daughter, Chanya Ann Parker and husband, Brian; three grandsons, Andrew, Kyle, and Ty Parker; special friends, Ray and Sompit Jeffrey; special sisters-in-law, Irene Duren and Leatrice Hardyman; and several nieces and newphew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Vance.
Veena loved going to church and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandsons. She also loved gardening, flowers, and cooking.
Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Parker, Chester Parker, Randy, Joshua and Ethan Waldrep, and Brian Lovelady.
