PaulPaul Carter, age 80, of Brentwood, TN, formerly of Arab, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Alive Hospice Hospice in Nashville from complications of a brain aneurism. Mr. Carter was born February 4, 1933 in Marshall County, AL to Joe and Geneva Carter. He graduated from Arab High School in 1950 and then was a Corporal in the U. S. Army. He married his wife Laureda Maze Carter on May 5, 1951. He spent his working life in management of trucking businesses. He became a Mason in 1963. Mr. Carter was an avid college football fan and loved his Auburn Tigers. His family was the true love of his life and he will be missed very much.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Laureda M. Carter of Brentwood, TN; his daughter, Reda Gene (Dale) Brooks of Priceville AL; his sons, Ed (Sandy) Carter and Larry (Marie) Carter both of Tennessee; brother, John H. Carter of Morgan City, AL; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Rodgers, Tim Brooks, Kristin Flatt, Jeff (Tandy) Brooks and Heather (Mike) Arbuckle; step-grandchildren, Ryan Williams, Lauren Williams and Michael David Rodgers; great grandchildren, Alex Brooks, Natalie Rodgers, Bryson Arbuckle, Kylie Arbuckle and Scarlett Flatt; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Geneva Carter; brother, Joe Carter; and sisters, Mildred and Imogene.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M. Graveside Service will be Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. at Arab Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.
