SHEFFIELD – The beautiful stained glass windows that adorned the church for a hundred years are presently sitting in a storage building. The doors are secured and posted. One will never again hear hymns and spiritual songs from the Sanctuary. No more Ice Cream Suppers. The brick exterior walls have an ominous tilt.
And tonightMonday night, the final chapter has been written for the 2nd oldest church in Sheffield. Grace has been deemed a Public Nuisance by the Sheffield City Council and it is expected the next step will be to bring “The Old Girl” down. Demolition is in the future of this once stately church.
