Louis Paul Broussard Sr. – Obituary

Louis Paul Broussard Sr., 75 years old, passed from this life, surrounded by family, on Dec. 15, 2013, following a recent illness. Memorial services will be at Greenview Funeral Home Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 1 o’clock. Family will receive visitors from noon-1 p.m. The service will be performed by Chuck Canterbury, Pastor of St. James United Methodist Church. A private burial will follow at a later date.

Mr. Broussard was born to Aurelian Isaac and Ida Suire Broussard in Gueydan, La. in October of 1938. He graduated from Santa Fe High School in Alta Loma, Texas. He and his wife, Julia, raised four sons while living in Baytown, Texas. He began work at Champion International Papers in Pasadena, Texas as a teenager, continuing work there until transferred to Courtland, Ala., Champion paper mill, where he served as Supervisor on the Wet End/Coater operation of No. 33 machine, and retired after 37 years service in 1987.

Surviving Mr. Broussard are his wife of 56 years, Julia Tipton Broussard; sons, Louis Paul Broussard II (Darci), Alan Broussard (Emily), retired Senior Chief Stephen Broussard (U.S. Navy), and Robert Broussard, all of Florence, Ala.; sisters, Louise Hungerford, of Branson, Mo., and Carol Hungerford, of Texas; brother, Alton Hungerford, of California; and grandchildren, Sarah Broussard Muse (Donny), of Madison, Ala. and Isaac Broussard (Makenzie), of Florence, Ala. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
