Thelma Lucille Murphy Burch, resident of Memphis, Tenn., native of Hartselle, retired K-Mart clerk and wife of the late James Aubrey Burch, Sr. died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville, Tenn. Graveside Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Falkville, with visitation one hour before services.
A Christian who enjoyed the outdoors, she leaves two daughters, Gwen Gunn (Jerry) of Oakland, Tenn., Anita Ford (Dr. John C.) of Germantown, Tenn.; son, John Ellis Burch (Sharon) of Lovell, Maine; numerous sisters-in-law; six grandchildren, Amanda McCurdy, Jeremy Burch (Sarah), Ian Burch, Dylan Burch, Brent Ford, David Ford; three great-grandchildren, Owen McCurdy, Natalie McCurdy, Claire Burch; special family friends, Bess and Earl Norman; and a special caregiver, Lyndell Ballard.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Murphy and Eva Thompson Murphy; son, James Aubrey Burch, Jr.; sister, Alma Blackerby; and two brothers, Henry “Buck” Murphy and Ralph Murphy. Peebles Funeral Home 901-465-3535
