Mrs. Geneva Ferge Crafton, age 85 of Somerville, departed this life Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral arrangements are currently incomplete. Information will be updated as soon as it becomes available.
A lifelong resident of Fayette County, Mrs. Crafton was born August 11, 1928 to the late Edwin and Ethel Pittman Ferge. On October 12, 1946, she was united in marriage to Mr. James Herbert Crafton, who preceded her in death May 28, 1983. She was a retired production worker, having worked for Kilgore Flares, National Fire Works and Dixie Chemicals. She was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and the Senior Companions of Memphis.
Mrs. Crafton is survived by her children, Charlotte Dennison of Jackson, James Herman Crafton of Somerville, and Lester Leroy Crafton of Somerville; two sisters, Eva Thompson of Somerville and Betty Rodgers of Somerville; two brothers, Bailey Ferge of Somerville and Donald Ferge of Somerville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, those who have preceded her in death include a sister, Sarah Sanders; and two brothers, Jack Ferge and Cob Ferge.
