Dorothy Wix Caudill Thompson, age 88, of Sheffield, died Monday, December 09, 2013. Visitation will be Tuesday, 11:30-1 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bruce Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Dorothy was a Sheffield native and a member of York Terrace Baptist Church and attended Mhoontown Methodist Church. She was a member of the Colbert Chiefs Camping Club and was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings and first husband, the father of her children, Charles E. Caudill, Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Lacy Owen Thompson; sons, Charles E. Caudill, Jr and wife Jan, Mark D. Caudill and wife Susan; daughter, Carolyn Caudill Weaver and husband Jack; step children, Linda Pope and husband Steve, Michael Thompson and wife Donna, eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
