“Big Ed” Burns

was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on November 4, 1952 the son of the late George Grady and Mamie Bailey Burns.

On August 19, 1972 he was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Casey, who survives.

Big Ed, as he was known by, retired from Hardin Medical Center where he worked in environmental services. Big Ed loved to smile and loved to make you smile.

He departed this life on December 3, 2013 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 61 years and 29 days.

In addition to his wife of 41 years, he is survived by his children, Quentin Burns of Savannah, Tennessee and Belinda Benard of Colorado Springs, Colorado

nine grandchildren, Jacob Burns, Jaron Burns, Jada Burns, Bailey Burns, Braidon Burns, Kayden Burns, Tristan Burns, Ariel Watson and Aaron Watson

two great grandchildren, Esabella Burns and Hendrix Burns

two sisters, Maggie Witherspoon of Savannah, Tennessee and Trudy Pitts of Milwaukee, Wisconsin

one brother, Freddy Burns of Milwaukee, Wisconsin

and a host of nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Georgie Hollingsworth and Joane Witherspoon and one brother, Will Bailey

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
