FLORENCE-Breaking News: Florence Man Arrested And Charged With Murder In Connection To Body Found In Tennessee River; Florence Police have arrested Jeremy Leshun Williams, 29, of 117 East Hawthorne Street, Apt 1, and charged him with the murder of Brioni Jamaal Rutland, 27, of Tuscumbia. Rutland was reported missing on Tuesday. Divers with the Florence Police Department and Alabama Marine Police located Rutland’s body early Friday afternoon in the Tennessee River. Information developed by detectives from Tuscumbia and Sheffield Police led authorities to Williams apartment in Florence early Friday evening. Evidence located at that apartment led police to believe that Rutland may have been murder in Florence. Detectives, along with investigators with Sheffield Police and Tuscumbia Police, have worked throughout the night gathering evidence which has ultimately led to Williams being charged. Williams is being held in the LCDC in lieu of bond. Detectives from Tuscumbia, Sheffield, Florence, Alabama Marine Police, and ABI Agents have been involved in this case. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

You know when we see stuff like this it makes me wonder what were these two men up to before the killed the other. I always think it has to be something with drugs.

I always wonder what would make someone murder. I consider so many possibilities that ‘drugs’ is naturally a consideration. Until I hear otherwise, though, I don’t sell myself on the drug angle.
