Garry Ray Lindsey
MOULTON-Garry Ray Lindsey, 59, of 2536 Pleasant Grove in Milton Florida was in the Lawrence County Jail today and has been charged in the 2006 murder of Roy Dale Oliver, who had been found shot to death at his residence on February 1, 2006.
At the time of the murder there was not enough evidence to hold Lindsey Sheriff Mitchell said. Although he has always been a suspect in the case. He had been interviewed by authorities on several occasions but was never charged.
For the last five months The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department has been working with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office to gather information and evidence to obtain a search warrant for Lindsey’s home.
While investigating other unrelated slayings the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office uncovered information and evidence that was related to the murder of Roy Oliver.
Lindsey was taken to the Santa Rosa County Jail in Florida and was released Friday after signing a waiver of extradition which allowed Lindsey to be taken back to Alabama where he is being held in the Lawrence County Jail with no bail set to date.
