Joseph Michael “Mike” Sandlin – Obituary

Joseph Michael “Mike” Sandlin , 42, died Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born April 23, 1971, to Joseph Richard Sandlin and Linda Faye Stanley Sandlin. He attended Itawamba Agricultural High School and received an associates degree from Itawamba Community College. He was a federally licensed international import/export broker working for FedEx, Expeditors, Nissan North America, and most recently FTZ Corp. He was a member of the Nashville Port Authority and past president of Brentwood Chase Home Owner’s Association. Having traveled extensively, he was loved my many for his quick wit, his sense of humor, and his big heart. He loved his pets, better known as his children, Grizzly, Redd Dog, and Varmint.

Private services will be held at a later date. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his mother, Linda Stanley, of Mantachie; two sisters, Patricia “Tish” Mills of Fulton and Joley Carter of Mantachie; one niece, Misha Comer (Colby); two nephews, John Scott Carter and Cody Mills; a special great-niece and great-nephew, Maci and Tyler; his very best friend, Bobby Knight, of Nashville; and long-time friends, Carter Beard, Eric Kemp, and Gena Sherrell.

He was preceded in death by his father.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vanderbilt University Medical Center Pancreatic Research, c/o Dr. William H. Nealon, 1301 Medical Center Drive, The Vanderbilt Clinic Suite 3501, Nashville, TN 37232-3755.

LInda, Trish, and Joleuy, please accept our condolences ointhe passing of MIke. I remember how muchaunt annie lioved him and enjoyed his company. God Bless.
