Funeral services for Audrie V. Lay, 86, of Crane Hill, will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Mt. Hope Baptist Church, with interment in adjoining cemetery, the Revs. Charles Johnson and Delbert Freeman officiating. The body will lie in state from 1-2 at the church.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lay passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 18 surrounded by her family, at Cullman Long Term Care & Rehab. She was born September 4, 1927 to parents Jeff Henry and Ethel Thornton Dye.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Quinton Lay; a brother, Otis Dye; and a sister, Adrie Jones.
She was survived by a son, Garry (Lois) Lay; a daughter, Donnie (Fred) Blackmon; two grand children, Candice (Trenton Scott) Lay and Leah (Keith) Messick; one great granddaughter, Alli Messick; three sisters, Dora (Rayburn) Long, Coley Gandy, and Cordie (M.D.) Freeman; one sister-in-law, Ruby Dye; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday night from 5:30-8 p.m. at the church.
