Melvin Michael, age 76, of Tuscumbia, died at his home, Sunday, November 17, 2013 with his beloved family at his side. He was retired from the City of Tuscumbia after thirty two years of service, and was a volunteer with the Tuscumbia Fire Department. He was a member of Barton Baptist Church.
Burial will be a private service with family and close friends at Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia. He was preceded in death by seven brothers. He is survived by his wife of fifty eight years, Annette Michael; sons, Bryon, Jeff (Linda), Tim (Reba), Andy; granddaughter, Kayla; great grandchildren, Lydia and Payton; brothers, Bert(Maryann), Avery (IdaMae), Hollis, Dee (Ruby); sisters, Earline Sarchet (Harold) and many loved nieces, nephews and families; brothers-in-law, Truman (Joan), Jimmy (Sharon).
Pallbearers are Randy Michael, David Cole, Barry Borden, Ty Killen, Tim Berry and Andy Berry. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Hamby, O’Neal Archer, Ricky Michael and Harold Mitchell.
The family express special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, especially niece, Tracy Sparks, Cindy, Sandra and Kim.
