JamesJames Emory Sheffield, 71, died suddenly Monday, November 11, 2013, at the Baptist Desoto Hospital. He was born July 11, 1942, in Cary, MS, to Hubert Stephens Sheffield and Mildred Senter Sheffield. He was a regional supervisor in the natural gas industry. He worked for Trunkline Gas Co. while living in Shaw, Stingray Pipeline while living in Texas, and Texas Eastern while living in Clinton before retiring in 1999. He had lived in Hernando the past eight years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.

Services will be at 1 p .m. Saturday, November 16, at the McNeece – Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Dr. Kevin Clayton officiating. Burial will be in the Dorsey Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Sheffield of Hernando; two sons, Guy Emory Sheffield (Angie) of Hernando and Jason Heath Sheffield (Mindy) of Olive Branch; one daughter, Cindy Sheffield Michaels (Darren) of Scottdale, GA; four brothers, Hubert Neil Sheffield (Kay) of Ocean Springs, Richard Wallis Sheffield of Scottsboro, AL, David Sheffield (Cynthia) of Ovett, and Buddy Sheffield (Nina) of New Bern, NC; two sisters, Mary Love Loftis (Bart) and Lilla Rose Bradford (Doug), both of Gulfport; six grandchildren, Kailey Christian Sheffield, Dylan Noah Sheffield, Joshua Caleb Sheffield, Isaiah David Sheffield, Samuel Walker Sheffield, and Eleanor Grace Michaels; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a. m. until service time Saturday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
