Funeral services for Mrs. , age 84, are scheduled for 1 PM, Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with Bro. George Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Independence Cemetery. Mrs. Gardner passed away Monday in Jackson. She was born May 4, 1929 in Henderson County to the late Sam and Ollie Sipes Hemby. She was a homemaker, a member of Nebo United Methodist Church, and enjoyed collecting antique glassware and figurines. She loved her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn L Gardner, her five brothers, George, Arthur, Otis, Samuel, and Boston Hemby and two sisters, Elvie Cogdell and Ola Gardner. Survivors include her son, Dave (Cindy) Gardner, her daughter, Joan (Lynn) Arnold, her sister, Cara Fuller, her eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
