James Donald “J.D.” Keener, age 75, of Florence passed away Monday, September 9, 2013. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 11, 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon at Spry~Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home chapel with Brother Phillip Skipworth officiating. Entombment will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Nephews will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Mr. Keener was a member of Highland Baptist Church and was retired from Champion International Paper Company. He was a U.S. Marine and National Guard Veteran, member of American Legion and Blackberry Golf Course. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vida Mundy and father, W.W. Keener. Survivors include his wife, Jean Keener Children: Donna Crumpton (Tommy) Elise Nix (Scotty) James D. Keener II (Kelly) Anne Olive (Tony) Sister: Rebecca Hall (J.D.) Grandchildren: Cliff Stout, Cody Nix, Albree & Justin Olive, Kloee & Sofee Keener.
