Arthur Lee McNutt passed away September 3, 2013 after a lengthy illness at Athens-Limestone Hospital. A native of Sullivan County Tennessee and longtime resident of Colonial Heights, he had recently moved to Athens, Alabama.
He was a graduate of Sullivan High School and a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. Arthur retired from the Research Division of Eastman Kodak in 1986 after 33 years service. Before failing health he had attended Colonial Heights United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Annie Lovie Epperson McNutt. Two brothers Keith W and Elmer M McNutt, a sister Edna M Hoover and infant Grand-daughter, Katherine S McNutt.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Thelma McQueen McNutt, two beloved sons, Russell Lee and wife Connie McNutt of Athens, Alabama and Robert Keith and wife Rebecca McNutt of Meridianville, Alabama. Three Grandchildren, Adam K and wife Leslie McNutt serving as missionaries in India, Daniel B McNutt of Madison, Alabama and Margaret (Maggie) McNutt of Meridianville. Great Grandchildren, Gabriel and Catherine of India and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 6 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport, Tennessee. Funeral services will follow in the chapel with Rev. Robert Burlingham officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00am in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount in Oak Hill Memorial Park Kingsport. Pall bearers will be Daniel McNutt, Terry Head, Tommy Head, Mike McQueen, Keith Mays, and John Sandidge. Honorary pall bearer is Wannah H.McQueen, Jr. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
The flag will be given at the grave. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 3952, Kingsport, Tennessee 37663.
