Eldon “Don” Stanley Hester, 95, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013. His family will receive friends for visitation at Colbert Memorial Chapel on Sunday, Sept. 1, from 2-3 p.m. The funeral will begin at 3 p.m., with Brother Gerald Borden. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
He was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of loyal service, where he served his country during World War II. He worked and retired from Colbert County Courthouse, and was an avid farmer. He was also a Mason for 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his stepson, James Thomas Bevis.
He is survived by his loving wife, Euphie “Sue” Hester; daughters, Charlotte Key, Teresa Wiggins, and Denise Creekmore Avilla; stepsons, William Doyle Bevis and Jimmy Ray Bevis; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
His family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
