Funeral service for Betty Jean Hampton, 70, will be Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Brown officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Her body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 30, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hampton died on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Huntsville Hospital. She was born August 22, 1943, in Morgan County to Edward Elvin Harris and Dorothy Jean Massey Harris. She was formerly a beautician for Gayle Hopper’s Salon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a daughter: Angie Tanner.
Survivors include: One Son: Thomas Tanner, Athens, AL
One Sister: Linda Cox, Lewisburg, TN
3 Grandchildren
