Pelmer Lee Lansdell Sr. passed away on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at the age of 73.

Pelmer was a lifelong member of Happy Valley Baptist Church in Elgin. He was retired from Reynolds Aluminum Can Plant in Sheffield.

He enjoyed watching Alabama football and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Pelmer was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ida Lansdell, of Town Creek, Ala.; his wife of 46 years, Ann Bradford Lansdell; siblings, Carzie Lansdell, Helen Hatton, Pauline McDaniel, Willis Lansdell, ElSadie Lansdell, Ophelia Justice and Thurman Lansdell.

He is survived by two sons, Pelmer (Ginger) Lansdell Jr. and Jimmy (Della) Lansdell; and one daughter, Hope (Troy) Latiolais; five grandchildren, Nick, Emma, Skylar, Eli and LeAnn; one stepgranddaughter, Sarah; three siblings, Sam Lansdell, Joe Lansdell and Betty Sue Johnson; mother-in-law, Willane Abernathy; and brothers-in-law, Tommy, Tim, Kenneth and Terry Bradford.

Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with funeral a service following at Rogersville Funeral Home. Hollis Rutheford will conduct the service. Burial will be in Belew Cemetery in Elgin.

Pallbearers are Nick Lansdell, Skylar Lansdell, Eli Lansdell, Freddie Lansdell, Michael Lansdell, Kevin Lash and Dempsey Copeland.
