Fred Ellery Gowing, Jr., 68 of Ardmore, Tennessee died on Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Lincoln Medical Center in Fayetteville, Tennessee.
Born Saturday, August 12, 1944 in Miami, Florida, he was the son of the late Fred Gowing, Sr. and the late Grace Miller Gowing. He enjoyed fishing, all of nature, his job and the people that surrounded him. He was a Veteran of the U S Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Ralph, Raymon and David Gowing.
Surviving are his wife: Deborah Gowing of Ardmore, TN, sons, Fred Gowing III of Burlington, NC and Erick Gowing of Ardmore, TN, step-son: Josh and Mandi Newberry of Ardmore, TN, daughters, Kimberly & George Pulliam of Milton, NC and Jessica & Ryne Strong of Ardmore, AL, brother, Roy & Judy Gowing of Saint Petersburg, FL, sisters, Nancy & Jim Westbury of Flowery Branch, GA and Dorothy & Robert Minier of Naples, FL, nine grandchildren: Jeremy, Jesse, Kayla, Cameron, Jackson, Carter, Harlie, Kylie, and Brady, and one great-grandchild: Jesse, Jr.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Derrick Moose officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
