Funeral service for Alta Maude “Maw” Sharp, 95, of Somerville will be Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Howard Edmonson officiating. Burial will be in Somerville Church of God Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Sharp passed away August 7, 2013, at her residence. She was born April 12, 1918, to William Elijah and Mary Gladys Thomas Edmonson. Mrs. Sharp was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, a faithful mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lovick T. Sharp; three daughters, Mamie Sue Turney, Peggy Harris and Betty Johnson; three brothers, Glenn Edmonson, George Edmonson and W.E. Edmonson; and one sister, Aileen Edmonson Couch.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Sharp of Somerville; one daughter, Vivian S. Smith of Somerville; eight grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
