Mary Jane Price Howard, age 69, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Her visitation will be today from noon to 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Florence with the memorial service following at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Callie Plunkett-Brewton will be officiating.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 48 years, William “Billy” Howard; one daughter, Bynum Howard Rogers and husband, Scott; one son, Lance and wife, Beth; two sisters, Beverly Titlow and Harriett Davis; four grandchildren, Will, Eppes, Anna Kate and Julia.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Lance C. Price, of Florence.
Mary Jane worked for ECM hospital in labor and delivery for 25 years. Following in her father’s footsteps, Mary Jane helped to bring thousands of babies into this world. She was passionate about her profession and cared for her patients deeply. She was known for her no-nonsense approach and a compassion for her patients that they never forgot.
Mary Jane was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Florence Animal Shelter, P.A.W.S or to Camp McDowell .
The family would like to especially thank the staff of ECM Hospital, 6th West Palliative Care Unit, Davita Renaissance Dialysis, Dr. Eric Wallace, Dr. Judd Allen and Dr. Lyman Mitchell.
