A public memorial service for Bertha Eady Thrasher, 100, of Moulton, will be held today, July 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church. A private burial will follow in Moulton Memory Gardens. Parkway Funeral Home is assisting.
Mrs. Thrasher, who died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, was born September 3, 1912, in Chalybeate Springs to George and Minnie Eady. She was a homemaker and member, Sunday school teacher and pianist at Harmony Baptist Church. Mrs. Thrasher enjoyed gardening, reading and fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Stephen Thrasher; two sons, Guy Stephen Thrasher Jr. and Aubrey Dwayne Thrasher; and one daughter, Barbara Ann Glasgow.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Philip Thrasher and Raymond Douglas Thrasher; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Thrasher, Vonda Hill, Bruce Terry, Rex Eady, Tim Thrasher and Tommy Glasgow.
Memorials gifts may be made to Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home Activities Department or Harmony Baptist Church Building Fund.
