Oneal Oliver, 86, of Verona, Miss., died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehab. He was born May 15, 1927, in Belgreen, Ala. to Claude and Nora Oliver. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. A longtime contractor, he built Haven Acres, Green Tee Subdivision and numerous other homes. During his years in Red Bay, he owned and operated several businesses, including several cotton gins and City Hardware Store.He served his church as a deacon and Sunday school teacher and was currently a member of Verona First Baptist Church. He enjoyed working, deep sea fishing and taking vacations with his family.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ida Oliver, of Verona; two daughters, Ann Harris (Ron), of Tupelo, and Judy Miller (Ray), of Verona; four sons, Edwin Oliver (Sara), of Tishomingo, John Oliver (Linda), of Red Bay, Ala., Larry Oliver, of Verona, and Billy Oliver (Brenda), of Tupelo; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hubert Oliver; and one sister, Eula Lindley.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Patrick Oliver, Brian Oliver, Chris Oliver, Greg Oliver, Christopher Oliver, Mark Harris and Joey Horton.

Visitation will be 11-1 Saturday.
