SHEFFIELD – Two Tuscumbia men were arrested Monday night after Sheffield Police allegedly discovered a load of illicit drugs in their car. It was a routine traffic stop. According to Chief Greg Ray, the driver, 29-year old, Lamarcus Ricks was observed rolling through a stop sign Monday night in their Explorer, by two Patrol Officers. They were pulled over.
Police had them exit their vehicle, and upon inspection allegedly found marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine , a bag of prescription pills, and almost $3,000 in cash.
Ricks and the other man, Antuan Goodloe, 34-years old, were arrested for possession of controlled substances. Ricks, who tried to run from the scene on foot,but was immediately captured, was also charged with resisting arrest. He also got a ticket for running a stop sign.
