Evon Davenport Rutland, 88, Muscle Shoals, AL, and passed away on November 4, 2026, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home after a brief illness.
She was born August 2, 1938, to Robert Lee and Earlie Davenport. She was a graduate of Hazelwood High School, class of 1958, retired from TVA and a member of Teamsters Local 402 Retirees. She was the Teamsters Retirees secretary after retirement. She was member of Redemption Shoals Church.
She had polio as a child; however, it never held her back. She played high school basketball, loved working in flowers, gardened and canned vegetables.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 54 years, Durell Rutland, her 3 siblings Marie Weems, Stella Bullion and Hershel Davenport.
She is survived by children, Myran & Jerry Murdock and Paige & Sammy Archer; grandchildren, Tiffany Murdock Pelle & Fred Pelle, Tyler Murdock & Jacklyn Murdock, Chelsea Murdock Ray & Benjamin Ray, Sammy Archer, Jr., Meghan Wright Ellis and Bradley Ellis, Seth Wright and Abby Wright. Great grandchildren Olivia Grace and Grayson Pelle, Ivy Lauren and Asher Ray and Jett Ellis.
Pallbearers will be Brian Lindsey, Jeff Lindsey, Rodney Stone, Jason Stone, Jeremy Stone, and Drew Clark.

Her celebration of life will be at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, AL with burial at Colbert Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia, AL on Friday, November 6, 2026. Visitation will be from 10am – 12pm with service immediately following in the Chapel with Bro. Bubba Cole officiating.
