Dottie Slaughter Bass, age 89, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Dottie was born June 19, 1937, in Marshall County, Tennessee, to the late Roy Slaughter, Sr. and Mamie Anderson Slaughter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Bass, two sisters, Elizabeth Poteete and Judy Gatlin, one brother Roy Slaughter, Jr., and son-in-law Big Terry Beatty.
Dottie was a retired LPN nurse and member of Westvue Church of Christ. Her favorite activities were reading the Bible and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by two children, Connie Bass Beatty and Steve Bass (Charlene) both of Lewisburg; four grandchildren, James Terry Beatty, II, Chanda Lee Beatty, Chad Bass and Jimmy Bass; six great grandchildren, Ian Bass, Anna Kate Bass, Kinsey Bass, Lucas Bass, Aria Gorney and Anna Mooneyham; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm at London Funeral Home, 324 W. Church Street, Lewisburg, TN, with the graveside service to begin at Lone Oak Cemetery starting at 1:00 pm.
