Donna L. Whitacre, 95, passed away Monday morning, October 26, 2026. She worked behind the scenes supporting her family, Boy Scouts (60 years), Sea Explorers, Coast Guard Auxiliary (38 years), Power Squadron and Latham Methodist Church.
She is survived by two of her sons, Kirk A. Whitacre and Chris M. Whitacre; grandchildren, Daniel, Stacey, Jamie and Cici; and great-grandchildren, Eden, Chloe and Emmi.
She was preceded by her husband, Walter E. Whitacre; her son, Donn A. Whitacre; and her sister, Leotha (Fu) Howard.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2026, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of her life at 2:30 p.m. A family graveside service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop 364, or any of the Cancer Research organizations.
