Billy Ray Thomas, 85, of Addison, Alabama, passed away on October 25, 2026. He was born in a home in Lawrence County, Alabama, to Richard Thomas and Meathel Shoemaker. Billy loved his family, Alabama Football, and all of his animals he had over the years. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, June Woods Thomas; son, Tim (Cindy) Thomas; daughter, Lisa (Eddy) Widner; brothers, Wayne Thomas, Clayton (Mary Lynn) Thomas, and Dalton (Jane) Thomas; sister, Shelby (Alan) Takala; grandchildren include Courtney (Mathew) Cordell, Lauren (Trent) Godbee, Garrett (Jessica) Widner, Haley (Clay) Holcombe, Nick Widner, and Katelyn (Wiley) Irish. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren; Rhett Widner, Grant Godbee, Reese Widner, Berklee Hayes, Rylee Widner, Branch Cordell, Gavin Godbee, Ian Hayes, Harlee Cordell and Huntlee Holcombe. Preceded in death by his parents: Richard “Dick” Thomas and Meathel Shoemaker; brothers; Willard Thomas and Donald Thomas; sister: Shirley Nall; grandchild: Ryan Hayes Visitation will be Wednesday, October 28, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where the service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Mt.
